You can also rent homes and condos from Gorge Central Vacation Rentals, 877-386-6109, or www.gorgeres.com There are some great ones listed and often less expensive than a hotel room if you get a couple of people together to share the expense.

Hello Fellow OBRA members,
Just a couple of quick updates for this years event.
Registration
Registration is way ahead of last year at this time so do not wait until the last second to register. Especially if you are going to race the CAT 3 or 4 men's class.
Lodging Status
Cooper Spur Mountain Resort is now full so if you are looking for lodging accomodations try one of the following options. Best Western Inn has great accomodations and also just happens to be one of our stage sponsors. If you call them for reservations make sure and tell them you are in for the event as they are totally booked except for rooms reserved for this event. Also results will be posted nightly in Best Western's lobby entrance. There direct number is 541-386-2200 or you can click on the Best Western Inn logo on stage 3 to log on their web site. If you are looking for something more quaint try the Old Parkdale Inn B&B. A perfect setup to accomodate a team and located just 8 miles from Cooper Spur. You can reach them at 541-352-5551. Finally for those hearty enough to camp (or RV) there is Toll Bridge County Park also located just 8 miles from Cooper Spur. They have several camp sites and RV hook ups available. Located right on the Hood River and with two nice shower houses it is a fully developed camping facility. Make sure and reserve, do not just show up day of race. Their number is 541-352-5522.
Web Site Updates
If you would like to see this year's event poster (now available for purchase) and T-shirt logon to www.mthoodcyclingclassic.com Also coming soon to the web site will be a current conditions report for all the courses. This will allow anyone wanting to come preride any of the courses a quick reference as to what to expect. Last year many of you came out to ride stage 5 only to be denied by some big snow drifts (in fact I was up shoveling snow off the course on Memorial day). I don't think this will be a problem this year but if it is we have arranged to have stage 5 plowed! Cooper Spur will also be running lodging specials for anyone wanting to come out and preride any of the courses. Hood River Massage will be on hand this year to give sport massages to anyone interested in trying to breath life back into their legs. Info regarding this service will be posted on the sight. Reservations will be required.
Finally
The owners of Discover Bicycles (and the backbone of the Mt. Hood Cycling Classic) Shane and Julie Wilson are moving their shop to a new location. They are now sitting at the corner of 2nd and Oak Street in downtown Hood River. For maps and info on the race stop on in or if you are out in the gorge May 1st be sure and attend their grand opening celebration.
Also just a reminder to everyone that the Columbia Plateau Stage Race is just around the corner. Oregon's first big stage race of the season and one of the few point to point races in the nation. Get signed up and don't miss an opportunity to experience Eastern Oregon and some great racing!
