I race for a team called Pistis racing team.
I would first like to thank everyone one that was involved in putting on the Spring thaw.
Good weather, good course, and a special thanks to all the riders that were there from all over.
I seen some intersting things while I was there yesterday that I was real pleased with. The Pro riders took time out of there way to talk to the young kid's and new racers coming up in Mt.biking.
My family of 4 races are in all different classes. ages 14,16,34,and 36 and we all have are own stories. Just to make every moment count and try and be as positive as possible in doing so. The people that race make that happen in way's that you may not all realize.
A Big Thanks to everyone!!! Race to have Fun..
God Bless you all,
Roger

The Spring Thaw is this weekend in Ashland.
The course is the same as it was in 2007.
The snow is gone; the course is 100% clear.
The forecast calls for a high in the 80s.
Besides being a fun weekend, we are part of the GT Golden Race Series.
It would be great for an Oregonian to win!
Come out and race...

Well folk, the weather forecast says Partly Cloud with sun breaks Saturday. Highs in the low 60s to lower 70s.

The climb is not yet powdery from a heatwave, which means it is smooth and extremely fast. (Except the top 1 1/2 mile, which is too steep fo be fast.)

We've had crews out the last two weekend working out the corners and preparing for the onslaught. It's in pretty darn good shape right now. Dry enough to not be wet/muddy, but moist enough to not be loose.

Can you climb? You're going to need to this year in the XC. I hear Decker and Tree Farm are coming down again this year.

Also, DH'ers would be wise to register tonight (Friday) or line up as soon as registration opens in the morning up at Four Corners because we may be close to our max of 200.

See you all in the morning!

I just wanted to commend the organizers of the Spring Thaw. There was a big mishap with the beginners? field this weekend, to make a long story short. There was a sign posted to turn left, but a car was blocking the sign. The beginners went the wrong direction and some. Out of a field of 51 only about 8 people stayed on the course. Sometimes it is best to be the turtle. Well in the end more beginners finished behind the sweep, but this could have be an ugly situation if it wasn?t handled well by the promoters and the officials.

In a time when the promoter could have easily said that the rules state that a racer needs to know the course and should not rely on signs and markings? the promoters came up with a solution that gave the racers some choices. I believe in the end, most everyone would say the solution that was offered was fair to all parties.
