OBRA Landers,
We are happy to officially announce the 3rd annual Swan Island Criterium/Classic (SIC) is still on for 2004. The race will be held on Sunday May 23rd at Cutter Circle on Swan Island. For complete details see http://www.creclub.com/sic . First Race is $17 and additional races are $8. Juniors are $8. Pre registration is open and payable online.
Several area business are supportive of SIC commitment for an equal womans purse and have donated cash and prizes over $1000. River City Bicycles has generously offered to provide 1st 2nd and 3rd engraved pint glasses for each race again this year. Bike-n-Hike and Bike Gallery have offered a large denomination of cash and gift certificates. Fred Meyer is donating pastries for 400 people and gift cards to many winners. Peets coffee will provide fresh brewed coffee for the entire race. The prize list continues to grow daily.
The fixed gear race is new this year. You are only required to have ONE front brake. There is a 21 foot roll out limit. (Your bike can only roll forward 21 feet or less for one revelation of the cranks). The race is for fixed gear bikes only (No single speed free wheels). Unique prizes are being determined.
A kids race will follow the fixed gear race. Free to enter and prizes for all kids 4-12.
