Mt. Hood Cycling Classic Road Updates

Hey everyone,

I am really sorry. I sent off course updates to our web guy to post

this morning and didn't realize he was going to be out of town for

the week. So if you go to the site you will get last weeks update

and not this weeks. Since I have had several emails asking for

updates I figured I better send it out via email. All the stages

look great right now including stage 2 up at Cooper Spur. The road

was swept just last week and repainted and it looks great. Stage

five is accessible with a little work but it is a mess. Lost Lake is

still blocked by snow near the summit. There are 4 drifts at around

100 feet in length that can be crossed by going "cyclocross" and

carrying your bike. A lot of blow downs and debris partially

covering the road. The lost Lake decesent looks good. Vista Ridge

climb has one drift 100 feet in length that should be drivable in a

matter of a couple of days (or now if you have 4 wheel drive). Other

than a few blow downs it looks really good. We are planning on

sending the sweeper up this week to clean the final 2 miles from the

resort to the ski area at Cooper Spur. It is snow free but has a lot

of gravel on it. We will have road crews up the next two weekends

cleaning things up for the event. I hope this helps!
