As someone else has just said; if they want things like SSAN or credit

card numbers it's a spoof or scam tactic. It should be reported to your

ISP as well as Topica.

I have not. But I have been getting similar emails from eBay, PayPal and Compuserve - all fraudulent. Be careful if they are asking for any personal info, esp SSAN, bank or credit card related. The URLs often look very real but they can be masks for other addresses. If in doubt, forward or cut & paste the email and send it to Topic >directly< through their web (www.topic.com). Ask 'em if it's real.

Has anyone else gotten the following email from topica? ?The implied threat

is that I will be dropped if I don't "update my information." ?Since this is

the first time I've seen this message in all the time that they have

"hosted" the mail lists, I wonder if they are finally getting around to

pruning dead lists or simply getting more marketing information.
