You are not going to notice a signficant difference unless you are
running a compact geometry. Classic geometry does not expose enough
seatpost to allow the seatpost to do what it is designed to do.
I have a Titus Drop U (extremely compact) and a Fort Airplane, and I
have tested titanium, aluminum and Easton carbon posts on these bikes.
The best ride was from the Easton carbon post followed by the Titanium.

I'VE GOT A STIFF ALUMINUM FRAME (KLEIN) AND HAVE HAD A SPECIALIZED BG
SEAT
AND HAVE BEEN REAL COMFORTABLE WITH IT.....BUT IT WEIGHS ABOUT 2LBS.
RECENTLY PUT ON A 200 GRAM SMALL SEAT WITH TITANIUM RAILS ETC. IT IS
SURPRISINGLY COMFORTABLE BUT BEING SMALLER AND STIFFER I FEEL LOTS MORE
VIBRATION ESPECIALLY AFTER A LONG RIDE. SO HERE'S THE QUESTION: WOULD A
CARBON SEAT POST MAKE MUCH DIFFERENCE IN THE QUALITY OF THE RIDE???/
