Absolutely! PIR has been a great venue for many, many years as a
circuit road race venue. They have also been great to us during 'cross
season. The management has always been very supportive of bike racing
and I don't want that to change. Nothing to complain about to PIR or
either of the promoters. Enjoy some nice training rides or get up to
Alpenrose and support the Six Day racers.

We do not want to antagonize the PIR management. They rent the track
to car races for $5000 + a session. We pay considerably less. If they
ever do a cost benefit analysis we could lose this venue.

Don't you think that complaints should be put towards PIR Management? It
seems that they just realized that there is bike racing on these two
nights without looking at the weekly schedule. No fault of any of
us-just PIR in general. Nice work PIR.

I just got a call from Jeff Mitchem who had evidently just gotten a call
from the PIR management indicating that preparation for the CART races
are
going to require them to cancel bike racing. In other words, no PIR
tonight, Monday, or tomorrow, Tuesday. This is unfortunately VERY short
notice but the organizers of the bike races were not informed until this
morning. I have spoken with Jim Anderson and he suggests that you send
any
complaints to him at jim-an-@comcast.net, although complaints are
not
going to change anything.
Please spread the word as much as you can, especially to people that
might
be coming from a long distance for these races.
On a more purely self interested note, this will give people time off to
go
to the Alpenrose Six Day which starts tonight. Racing starts at 6:30 PM
tonight and every day this week until Saturday when racing starts at
4:00
PM. Let me know if you need any more info.
