OBRA has been working real hard to establish parity of racing categories
with USAC. It has happened and it is important to keep that relationship.
A OBRA member who obtains a USAC license should include a copy of their OBRA
membership card to verify their status or their license will come back as a
Cat 5. Likewise a USAC member must produce their license to verify their
correct category.
For the Elkhorn Classic a long time OBRA Cat 3 has registered as a Cat 4,
based on his USAC license. This is fraud. We have suspended him for 30
days. USAC will honor our suspension. It is our hope that we have been
real up front with this and that riders will not take unfair advantage.
