Summer is in full swing and riding is at its best in the Northwest. The

racing season has been long, hard and fast for everyone, and we still have

more to go.

July in Oakridge is the perfect month for all aspects of cycling, offering

some of the best road and mountain biking in the Northwest. With Willamette

Pass open and running the Gondolas the downhill season is in full swing, the

paved routes leaving the area are pristine with little to no traffic on good

paved roads and the cross country trails are some of the best you will find

in the world.

With all this awesome riding available to us in one place we have put

together some great riding opportunities. The Summer Ride Fest 04' and the

Oregon State Mountain Bike championships.

Both events take place July 15th -19th in Oakridge. The Summer Ride Fest 04'

in its second year has expanded to offer something for everyone, road,

x-country, downhill, freeride and beginner rides. The Oakridge State MTB has

racing going on Saturday with a hill climb and short track and the cross

country on Sunday.

Summer Ride Fest Schedule:

Thursday and Friday: Guided intermediate to advanced Mountain Bike rides and

self guided road rides with directions.

Saturday: Beginner MTB clinic and ride, guided intermediate to Epic (by

Cascade Cream Puff finishers) Mountain Bike rides and guided/supported road

rides (100k-200k).

Sunday: Guided intermediate and advanced Mountain Bike rides and self guided

road rides.

Willamette Pass will be open all weekend for downhilling and the Willamette

Valley Freeriders will be sitting up a course at the Westfir Outpost for

Saturday evening.

Saturday: Burrito feed and raffle after 4:00pm at the Westfir Outpost.
