Sorry everyone that I post this as an after thought I am just know catching
up on emails from this past week. Speaking for the Gorge Games this year it
was decided to forgo any kind of mt. bike event that would directly compete
with the State Championships down in Oakridge. We did not want to compete
against Randy and his crew as they put on such a great event down there.
Instead the Gorge Games is offering a freeride competition in the newly
developed post canyon area which ran today and then they are running a Mt.
Bike Adventure race next weekend July 17th. The Mountain Bike Adventure
race is in the same format as adventure racing with riders being required
not only to come with fitness but also navigational and orienteering skills
as well. Competing in teams of two to four racers will be given a map with
45 numbered flags on it and will be competing to locate these markers and
score points. If you are not planning to head to Oakridge and are looking
for some kind of alternative or just want to see some great outdoor action
in other sports such as kyaking, windsurfing, running, skateboarding, etc.

Hello All
I have been getting some e-mails from people about the
state championships and state games...it is confusing
because they have simular names and are only a week a
part so....
Official Cross Country Mt Bike State Championships are
July 16-18 in Oakridge, Official Downhill are Sept 4-5
at Willamette Pass please contact me with questions.
The state games are a long running event that includes
not only mt biking, but a bunch of different sport
events mostly held in the Portland area including
biking, track and field, soccer and much more...the mt
bike part is at Mt Hood this weekend,...contact them
with questions
As for the 100 mile relay and the Gorge Games I
honestly do not know anything about those events
besides they too are this weekend.
