RE: Spam: Movie Screening! July 20th!

Yeah, it is funny how my Email is full of people bitching about one post.

Maybe some of us need to turn up our "IGNORtia" filters.

Or we could write up a referendum banning off topic posts.

Hey Molly can you pass a petition around while you are watching the movie?

Lighten up folks!

I think it was easier to ignore Molly's one message, if you did not want to

read it then the multiple e-mails from everyone complaining about the

inconvenience of one e-mail. The "solution" ie constant postings is more

annoying than anything else.

Per your Ed Abbey quote, I am "speaking the plain truth."

People who post off topic/political messages to this forum are

inconsiderate

With all due respect, Spam is unsolicited/unauthorized messages via email

or

newsgroups (such as OBRA chat), whether it is informational or not.

Therefore off-topic posts are simply inconsiderate regardless of the

sender's compassion for a particular issue

Additionally, the assumption of the sender of Spam must be that their

message is more important than the group member's right to read posts of a

topic of their choosing without distractions; obviously sending Spam is a

selfish.

Are you suggesting that most OBRA postings are off topic?

The reason I ask is if you are suggesting that most OBRA posts are off topic, I suggest you back that up with data; otherwise you are simply utilizing the grade school argument of "oh yeah, he/she did it first," which has no credibility although it is used often in politics.

However, if you are suggesting that this topic is similar in its "off topicness" to other off topic subjects, I will agree with you... THEY ARE ALL WRONG and should not be tolerated by this forum.
