Wear Yellow

Hey! Bush called to congratulate Lance.

Also, I'm pretty sure I saw a picture of John Kerry wearing a Livestrong

band.

Speaking of awareness, does anyone know where I can get an anti-bush

bracelet? There's a cancer we can cure by years end! (November to be

exact).

Just returned from watching the Tour de France. The yellow bands are

everywhere - on the riders and spectators from many countries. They were being sold

legitimately on the Champs Elysees on Monday. Many Americans who had extras

were giving them to Europeans who were drawn to them like bees to honey.

BTW, while a lot of the French still think Lance may be on drugs, I'd venture

that the majority like him as much as we do. "Go Lance" from French,

Germans, Belgians, Brits and Danes when they realized we were Yanks. The French

cycling press, esp the national sports newspaper, l'Equipe, was glowing in their

praise of his victory.

BUSH HAS CANCER?! Oh my gosh, this is terrible! I think Lance is a Bush

fan, so perhaps he will do something to help the President?

I agree with Kurt, we, as compassionate bicycle racers, should pull together

and support President Bush by wearing yellow bracelets!

Norrene,

Since you work at Nike, do you know if there is a push for another

production run of the livestrong bands? That would put the kybash on the

profiteers.

I also wrote the LAF to make them aware of the Ebay listings. Maybe that

will encourage them to do another run. More money...more help

Thank you to all of you who bought the livestrong wristbands many people

will benefit from your purchase. 100% of the 5 million dollars raise will

go to the LAF earmarked to help young cancer survivors live strong.

It's too bad people are selling the wristbands on ebay and pocketing the

money for themselves, that's not what the wristbands fundraiser was

intended for.

sell them on e-bay. i see one new one going for over $20.00. used

ones..maybe $2.00

like girl scouts, we should all have boxes of them to sell. many people

Jumped the shark? I had two people today in my office and one at a

meeting

ask me what the band was about? And I've been wearing it for weeks now.

Until people stop asking, I don't think it has come anywhere close to

jumping the shark.

As for how long do you wear it? Wear it as long as you like. You

already

donated your dollar, you didn't even have to wear it in the first

place. If

you don't wear it, how about passing it along to someone who might,

along

with the story behind it so they can pass along the story.

Even though we see these bands everywhere we go, which is due to the

fact

that Portland has a great cycling community and Nike headquarters is

here,

  I

am sure that you would be hard pressed to find as many bands anywhere

else

  in the country.

Noreen,

How long do we wear these things. I really have enjoyed wearing the

bracelet but I am worried the magic may wear off. Should we just wear them

during the tour or special occasions?

Well I have my bracelet on right now! And the big magic is that it shows

other people that you care, and that you care enough to help support the

fight against cancer!

I think they jumped the shark by the time the tour started.
