I use a Kelty day-pack. It's large enough for all my clothing &
work-related items + lunch stuff. It has padding between you and the
pack and is quite comfortable.
My commute is 9-10 miles each way (flat & hills). On the hotter days, it
does pick up a little bit of the sweat off my back, but it drys quickly.
I don't remember the model (it's 3 years old), but the closest I can
find to it now is the "Kelty RedTail".
I got mine at REI - on clearance for like $20!!
