PIR 8/17 results

John Lombard

I think it depends on how generous the official is. I

know that when I was officiating PIR and Tabor I would

overlook anyone who didn't have a visible number. I

only wrote down riders who had visible numbers.

John,

You are correct that people who didn't sign in or

aren't wearing their

number get left out of the results and don't get

their points.

Unfortunately, last night we had some people

register late and didn't get

their names on the copy of the registration forms

that the officials had. I

am basically giving those people the chance to let

me know that they did in

fact pay and if they didn't, they won't get their

points. Hopefully this

will set everyone's minds at ease.

As a reminder to everyone. If you don't sign in,

don't wear your number or

put it on the wrong side, or don't sign in legibly,

you make the job doing

results even more difficult for the officials.

Please try to help us, and

we can get the results done quicker and with fewer

errors. Thanks!!

What's the deal in the 3/4 race with 5 of the top 17

not signed in??? Did

they just show up late and sign in after the race?

(I didn't know that is

acceptable.) Or, does it mean 689, 76, 328, 161 and

"No Number University of

Oregon" did not pay to race on Tuesday? Are there

riders in the field who

take unfair advantage of those who paid for the

privilege? The races

wouldn't exist if no one paid for them, and I have

not heard that there are

people who are exempt from paying the entry fee.

No!! You are required to register and pay for every race. If we know

you blatantly tried to race for free, we will pull you and recommend

disciplinary action to OBRA. The main problem we have been having is

people who signed a release and bought a season pass at the beginning of

the season, and then they think they can just hop in the race without

signing in. You must sign in every time!!!

Thanks for the question.

Wait a sec, you are indirectly saying as long as you want to race for

free, just show up on the line and go for it.

Please clarify, as this has many repercussions.

Wait a sec, you are indirectly saying as long as you want to race for free,

just show up on the line and go for it.

Please clarify, as this has many repercussions.

John,

You are correct that people who didn't sign in or aren't wearing their

number get left out of the results and don't get their points.

Unfortunately, last night we had some people register late and didn't

get their names on the copy of the registration forms that the officials

had. I am basically giving those people the chance to let me know that

they did in fact pay and if they didn't, they won't get their points.

Hopefully this will set everyone's minds at ease.

As a reminder to everyone. If you don't sign in, don't wear your number

or put it on the wrong side, or don't sign in legibly, you make the job

doing results even more difficult for the officials. Please try to help

us, and we can get the results done quicker and with fewer errors.

Thanks!!

What's the deal in the 3/4 race with 5 of the top 17 not signed in???

Did they just show up late and sign in after the race? (I didn't know

that is acceptable.) Or, does it mean 689, 76, 328, 161 and "No Number

University of Oregon" did not pay to race on Tuesday? Are there riders

in the field who take unfair advantage of those who paid for the

privilege? The races wouldn't exist if no one paid for them, and I have

not heard that there are people who are exempt from paying the entry

fee.

I've often wondered the same thing... if they are NOT paying, and/or

signing in, it seems like they may have earned a membership to the

blacklist club. A revealing of the names behind the numbers is in

order!!! Gather the mob!!! Let's get them!!! Seriously, let's not abuse

the system. This is ridiculous. Ok, maybe it's a simple clerical error,

then maybe excuseable.

Are there riders

in the field who take unfair advantage of those who paid for the

privilege? The races wouldn't exist if no one paid for them, and I have

not heard that there are people who are exempt from paying the entry

fee.
