John Lombard
First of all, I need to explain that I pushed back the
Hillclimb a week this year to avoid conflicting with
Oregon Masters Track Championships. However, it
appears that I am now conflicting with a Mt bike race
that happens on the same day (September 12th). So, I
will do everything that I can to give those MTB racers
the earliest possible start in order to allow them to
make both events. Please don't ask me for an early
start if you are not doing the MTB race.
Also, I will do everything I can to schedule tandem
racers at a time that allows them to do two races. I
have done this in previous years and we haven't had
any problems.
Granted, I am promoting this event and it seems that
putting on my own event might leave me with the power
to do what I want. But, my reason for trying to stick
with the start orders is to make it easier on the
officials. With the racers adhering to the scheduled
start times, the officials are able spit out results
for categories as soon as the last rider in the group
crosses the line.
Anybody who is racing tandem plus a category, or the
MTB race that day, please contact me via email
(johl-@yahoo.com) and I will work with you on a
different start time.
Also, I will be starting a spreadsheet with start
times as entries roll in. Just like years past, I
will post it on a webpage and update it daily. I will
also be showing up to PIR on Tuesdays, starting next
week, in order to save you a stamp.
Thanks,
-John
