water bottle question

Sagers, Pat

2004-08-24

Seriously,

I never had more than 3 or 4 until this year. I did a couple stage races

and by now I would say I have about 20 or so. The interesting development

about this is that now my wife and son use some of these bottles for none

biking events like hiking, traveling, soccer, baseball, etc.. At the end of

a weekend the dishwasher will have more bike water bottles than glasses.

They really are quite handy.

Tip:

If you have one you really dig but it is leaking or you don't

want to scrape

it all up -

Cut the top off and use it as a pen holder on your desk. A

sure way to

impress friends and coworkers.

Dave

How many water bottles do people own? How many is too many?

Do you keep some bottles for sentimental reasons and some to use?

I own several hundred bottles. Most are Cascade Cream Puff bottles

(my race). I throw out the nasty bottles, keep the good ones. I do

have a few bottles I keep as souvenirs.

some knowing that no good can come from this, I wil ask anyway:

It does beg the question, why the question....

I think we keep 10 or so bottles going. But, heck yeah, I still have that

one or two that I got somewhere sentimental that I can't quite part with.

Not sure I'd drink from them, but no way could it just be tossed in the

garbage...

Is it wrong to keep them for sentimental reasons? As long as the water does not jump out from all the mold inside the bottle, it should still be considered good. Just my thoughts.....

Odd question. But I'll bite on it. I have five brand new, unused

Campy Biodinamica bottles still in the original boxes. I think they

were last made in 1988. You see, the bottle cage bolts fused

into the braze-ons on my road bike. And no other bottle will fit

that cage. So I cornered the world market on them. The next time Lance

needs one, he'll have to come to me. Bwuhahahahahah
