How you can help

As everyone else, the ODOT has a big web site.

Although being a northerner, I am not completely sure, I think the pertinent

page is: http://www.odot.state.or.us/comm/agstudy/

There is an e-mail address at the bottom of the page. BE NICE!! :-)

Subject: [OBRA Chat] How you can help

Dear Friends,

Since I posted my letter titled "Save Phil's Trail" I have received quite a

few E-mails asking how you can help or get involved. As I am just learning

about this project myself in the last few days I don't have many suggestions

at this point.

1) Please send a letter to ODOT (Bend Office) highlighting your

thoughts

about building a gravel pit in the Phil's trail area. I have been told that

these letters will then be entered into the public record and will have to

be reviewed in order to select this area as the final site.

2) If you can, attend any meetings that are open to the public and

voice

your concern. I understand there is a meeting tonight December 6, 2000 at

5:30. The meeting will be held at the Bend ODOT office which is behind the

Bend Welcoming Center.

3) I will be circulating a petition to the local bike shops and

anywhere

else I can put one. Please take the time to read and sign the petition so

that we can submit it to ODOT. Please E-mail me if you would like your own

petition form and I will E-mail it to you (i.e. people that don't live in

Bend but use the trail system)

3) Support C.O.T.A. Central Oregon Trail Alliance. This is a group

that

is similar to I.M.B.A but works more on a local level. E-mail me for more

information.

Thank you again for all of your help, support and e-mails in this matter.

If you have further questions feel free to e-mail them to me at:
