Hey Obraland
Just got back from Texas and I wanted to let everyone know how well Oregon did at Elite Track Nationals.
Lets start with the not so good stuff. Just before the men's kerien heats Steven Alfred was warming up on the motor (Ducati Monster...NICE!) followed by lighting legs Dean Tracy and another 250 pound sprinter behind Dean. I don't know why, but Steven hit the back end of the motor and sent himself, Dean and one other guy hard into the track....Well I should say the other 250 pounder landed on Deano, then hit the track...OUCH! Dean was pretty messed up after than, he hurt his knee really bad and left half his skin on the rough surface of the track. Just take a look at Alfred on cyclingnews.com if you want to see some aftermath of the crash.
Now on to the good stuff.
Larysen won the U23 3k pursuit and placed 4th in the U23 points race - way to go Larysen
Miranda Duff placed second in the women's kerien and third in the 500 with a new pr of 38.8 seconds - way to go Miranda
Last, but not least ,Josh Kerkoff - he is now a 2 time National Champion in the 4k team pursuit and men's scratch race. He placed 3rd in the U23 4k pursuit, thrid in the U23 points race, but his crowning moment was when he won the men's scratch race.....Jamie Carney placed 6th. Nice job Josh.
Way to go all! Oregon and OBRA was well represented!
Cheers
Norrene
