Hey all!



Once again, I am riding down to Eugene with a friend that is going to

school at UO. Last year, we started at his parent's place in Tigard, and

took 99W all the way down. This wasn't bad other than some very high

traffic and narrow or non-existent shoulders between Monroe and Junction

City. So, we are looking for a new, better route.



My friend suggested we take River Road south of Newberg, which sounds

cool to me, especially because it gives the opportunity to cross the

Willamette on the Wheatland Ferry if the whim takes us to do so, but, the

major problem I have discovered is that this route dumps us right smack

into the center of the Salem/Keizer.



Does anybody have any favorite routes or route suggestions? I also think

it would be fun to somehow link up with Peoria road (it goes to

Harrisburg, doesn't it?) if at all possible. I appreciate any suggestions

you might have.
