Since every other cycling listserve I am on is in mass post mode on this, I found it refreshing not to see OBRA Chat on the bandwagon :)

I was able to open my Kryptonite Evolution 2000 in about 1 minute using the barrel of a BIC Soft Grip. Once you get it, it's amazingly easy to do.

I'm very surprised not to see any posts on this yet- It's a sad thing,

all my locks are Kryptonite-

google "Kryptonite bic pen" to see what all the fuss is about.

Appearently, It's no joke.

It doesn't look like a hoax. What's more, it seems to work on just about

all cylindrical locks. Please do try to replicate, but be careful. I've

heard the locks get stuck in a half-open position, and you can't return them

to the locked position if you go the full 180 degrees around. It's funny

how many Kryptonite locks were listed on eBay today.

I don't happen to have a bic pen to try this right now, but if you look at

a

cylindrical lock key, there are little half round notches of varying

length

and a "paddle" thing to turn the "bolt". I seriously doubt that can

duplicated with a bic or any other type of pen.

This is going on my "urban legend" list until I can test it myself. If it

can be done, I'll do it.
