What Class Sunday?

Boy am I glad I raced in Beginner! That was much harder than I thought,

but at least I was able to finish (and do 5 laps). I fell on the second

run-up on my second lap and smacked my knee pretty hard with the top

bar. One of those 'funny bone' kinds of hits, where it just goes numb. I

got back on and it took a half lap or so to loosen up. That's why I only

finished 59th. Well, that and the fact that I was totally BEAT on the

last lap and picking up the bike over the barriers was an almost

insurmountable task! :D

Sam did much better than me, capturing a 4th in Juniors. I kept

expecting him to tucker out, but every time he came by, he looked nice

and strong. He said it helped that I was able to tell him where he was

in regards to other riders, and letting him know how many laps he had

left.

Can't wait until next week! Ken

I'm a little confused what class I should race in Sunday's CC race. I'm

a rank begineer riding a Mtn bike with skinny Cross tires. Am I better

in "Begineers" or should I be in Cat C?

A big thank you to everyone involved in the Alpanrosse Cycle Cross

clincs! I've ridden in two of them, and my son Sam in all 4 so far, and

they have been a huge help. Without the clinics, I wouldn't even dream

about trying to race Sunday! (Sam on the other hand is 16 and

invincable; he'd ride anyway. :D)
