As a victim of a motorist destroying my bike in July, I can say it helps
to have your own insurance to act as your advocate. It resulted in my
getting by bicycle replaced. Your insurance company is YOUR advocate in
situations like this.
Regarding the rider who got hit in WaCo., I think it is time to give Mr
Ginsburg a call. Nothing like a lawsuite to take care of things or light
a fire under certain ineffective law enforcement agencies. Toss
Vancouver into the group as well. That is ONE city you do not want to
have repsonding to a motorist/cyclist accident. Wait for the Count or
State patrol if at all possible. And never, EVER take the polcei
officers word that you dont need to file an accident report!
