Thanks for the info. You might make this explicit. A lot of kids where I
live (Seattle area) are racing thinking they they will ride in their 2004
age groups at Nationals. On their web site the promoters of the Portland
UCI Race on Saturday (10/9) are telling even the 17-18 year-old riders to
race their 2004 ages. Please let people know so the kids know what to

The easiest way to look at it is this, all of your sons ride in the age
group that would show on their 2005 licenses. They are essentially one year
older in racing age for cyclocross.

Hi Shawn...My son is a junior racer. I'm not understanding the rule for
junior cylocross age groups. Last year if your racing age was 16 you raced
in the 17-18 category at Nationals (or your 2004 UCI age for purposes of
qualifying for Worlds). All of the other age groups raced in the 2003 road
racing age groups. So effectively, there was age groups at Nationals of
10-12, 13-14, 15, and 16+.
It seems to have changed this year. Specifically my question is, if my
son's 2004 racing age is 16, what age group does he race at the 2004
Nationals. What if he is 14 or 12? Thanks. Michael Buckley
