Cyclocross World Champion Pontoni to Visit River City Bicycles this Friday, 10/8, 4:30-6:30 p.m.
Professional bike racer Daniele Pontoni (Italy), who won the Gold Medal in the 1997 Cyclocross World Champions, Elite Men's division, will visit River City Bicycles this Friday, Oct. 8, from 4:30-6:30 p.m.
River City Bicycles is hosting an open-house event to welcome Pontoni and other top national and international cyclocross racers who will be in Portland this weekend for the Crank Brothers U.S. Gran Prix of Cyclocross race on Saturday, Oct. 9. Sponsored by Cannondale bicycles, the Portland race, (a.k.a. the "Cannondale Stumptown Classic") is the first race in the Crank Brothers U.S. Gran Prix of Cyclocross--a six-race series taking place in six cities across the United States this fall.
"In addition to Daniele Pontoni, a lot of other great racers will be here, too," says Brad Ross, who is organizing the open house on behalf of the River City Bicycles Cross Crusade. "VeloNews and reporters from other media will be here. It's going to be a lot of fun!"
