Any of those should be fine for you. The Twister Pro's have got some really
good bite for the really sloppy stuff. The Jets are nice on all but those
conditions. Don't have any experience with anything else.
I think if it's a cross specific tire, you'll be fine. When you move out of
beginner you'll have more of an idea as to what your tastes and riding style
require, and perhaps more justification for spending more.

Hello there Obra-land,
I'm a cyclocross beginner this year and I am in the market for some new
tires for this season. I've looked at the Michelin Jets' the Ritchey
Speedmax's and the Ritchey Excavader 700's. I've also heard good things
about the Continental Twister Pro's.
I'm looking for a little advice from any other CCX'ers out there about
tires they've had good experiences with. I'm looking for good mud
clearance and resistance to pinch flats expecially at low PSI's.
