It's a nice idea, but I'm afraid my 28-pound rain fixed ain't especially

what I'd call a sprint bike...I haven't been on a deraileur'd bike in

months, and I don't intend on doing so anytime soon. (My 17-pound 42x18

Calfee only comes out if itz a nice day.) Maybe we can just have a

cider-chugging contest at the park !?



Or...Could I use Todd as my proxy? :-)

I like the idea of a charity event. I will throw in $20 for the privilege of

sprinting against David. We could ask for some small amount from people who

want to watch, and I will donate the 200 francs that I will take from Brad

Gebhard. Brad, how much is that in dollars? (I am just glad Brad is not

here to sprint because I am sure he would win that one after all that time

riding against the fast guys in France).



I suggest we donate any proceeds to the Burnside Transition Projects (The

mission of Transition projects is to assist and advocate for people in

Multnomah County to meet their basic needs for shelter, food, clothing,

physical and emotional health).



Doing the race at the New Year's day ride also allows me almost 2 weeks of

intensive training to prepare.

Anyone willing to donate some money for this cause?
