Aurora Cycling is hosting the NWWC Meet the Team Ride this Saturday. Please arrive at Pert's Deli by 9:20 for a 9:30 AM departure (120 Lakeside Avenue, Seattle 98122).
Aurora Cycling
Most Aurora Cycling Club ("ACC") members compete in either road, track or cyclocross, or a combination of those disciplines, with some members focusing on mountain bike racing, triathlons and ultra endurance events. The club devotes extra resources and time to developing its junior and women members. While the club's focus is on supporting members who compete in racing events, we are an open enrollment organization. Everyone is welcome, so long as they observe the club's simple and informal code of conduct -- positively support bike racing and cycling in general in the community and beyond, wear a helmet when riding, be good sportsmen and sportswomen, compete safely and fairly, support the club's racers, support our sponsors by wearing the team clothes, and participate in club activities such as club promoted races and club administration. Our adult membership is diverse, but most are 30 years old and over. That means we have careers, some have families as well, and these typically take priority over bike racing. However, within these constraints, we do our best to train, compete, and, most of all, have fun. In the 2004 season, ACC won the individual and team-overall Best All Around Rider championships in three rider categories - Women's Cat 4, Men's Masters C and the Junior's C categories.
