Rob,

I have rebuilt a set of Ritchey Pro Z road wheels with new spokes and rims for Even Elkin when he wrecked his and I have serviced about 10 other sets so I have a fair amount of experience with them even though I have not rode on them myself except to test function.

First, "OCR" (off center rim) rims do not affect brake adjustment in any way. The braking surface of the rim is the same as any other symmetrical rim as it relates to the brake pads. The "off center" part refers to where the spokes attach to the rim. The spoke attachment point is moved left of center to facilitate more even spoke tension like a front wheel. The result is a stronger, more stable wheel that uses all the spokes unlike a conventional rear wheel that runs mostly on the drive side spokes.

Overall, I'd say they are good, strong, light wheels that also look cool.

BTW, I have a used set in excellent condition you can have for only $275.00

Subject: [OBRA Chat] Ritchey Wheels?

Hello,

Does anyone have experience with Ritchey Pro Z road wheels? Specifically, do they hold up ok? Does the "OCR" system make changing between other, regular wheelsets a problem (with brake adjustment, etc.)?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

-Rob
