Hola muchachos,
If you occasionally ride SLOWER with STUFF (i..e. cycle tour) you might
be interested in my upcoming slideshow/book launch at Borders Eugene
next Wednesday Oct 20, 7 pm.
It's titled: SEE THE REAL CUBA WITHOUT THE $55,00 FINE, referring, of
course, to the cyclist couple who are facing a fine for going there and
writing the Bicycling Cuba guidebook:

The show is about my 3-month solo 'sleeping with the enemy' (well not
literally, though I did on one occasion have to share a bed with
someone's niece) bike trip through Cuba, and resulted in my new book,

Ah, I know how I can remotely relate this to bike racing - on a truck
to Havana I met Cuban athlete Yoanka Gonzales Perez, who was training

Someone sent me a link recently that shows she won an international
track race in Melbourne, Australia recently:

In the book I describe how I started riding with her to visit her
sports institute, and after a while she said 'I am not use to riding so
slow, I think I am going to fall over'. So she started pushing me along
with her hand and we flew! I was fully loaded, mind you.
