Subject: Re: [OBRA Chat] Front Derailleur Needed!
Troy,
Shimano still makes the front derailleur. Shimano
Nexave T400-S Top pull. However ist's only 8spd this
is the front derailleur that was stock on Trek's first
cross bike (1999 or 2000, gold color I believe)Check
the 2004 Shimano catelog page 48. I know QBP stocks
this part I myself was looking at the same problem,
but I went with a Shimano XT (FD-M761)dual pull, top
pull or bottom pull. As long as you are using a 48
chainring or smaller it will work fine and its 9spd.

Hi OBRA land,
I'm having trouble finding a front derailleur for a
Trek cross bike. I
need a 34.9 Top Pull that will work with Ultegra
cranks. (Mtn
derailleurs won't work) I think I should use a old
school Shimano RSX
that is no longer made. So next time you're digging
for your lost socks
or that multiool you know you have, checkout your
old parts drawer and
see if you got one of these collecting dust.
Thanks for looking,
Troy
