I am about to dispose of 1500+ cloth numbers that were misprinted for
the 2005 season. If you want any, or can find a use for any let me know
before the landfill gets them

Seat covers for the honeybuckets....
Those expensive looking dinner napkins that you roll up and place on the

We could play bingo with them......

So I ordered the 2005 obra road numbers and the boxes arrived this week.
Unfortunately they misprinted them and they all say 2004 on them. They
are
reprinting and we can expect delivery before Dec 1. But do you have any
suggestions what I can do with 3800 lycra race numbers with the wrong
year
on them?

Anyone interested in those strechy things that go on the front of your
bike while it's on the top of your car so you don't have bug juice on
the bike when you get to the races?? These would be perfect!

I think we should make small parachutes for stopping after timetrials on the velodrome; especially for the short, fast ones like the 'Kilo and the 500m when you have a good head of steam going, but no strength left to slow down and/or stop!

I would think that this could be a great auction item for raising funds
for a coach for the track racer who came in last in every race I
entered...whoops, I meant he/she entered...

Or sew them into a giant sheet and make the top

How about a cape for David Auker?
Or turn them into tiny musette bags?
Start a new trend--hang OBRA numbers in your doorway

Why not have them made into jerseys that are awarded to the year end points

With regards to the misprinted, excess OBRA numbers Schreck, George
[mailto:george.-@pacificorp.com] wrote:
"Why not use them anyway. People are always using their old numbers in
races. "
Primarily because having a current year number is one of the ways that we
ascertain that the rider actually is a member for the current year. In fact
the OBRA rules contain:
"10. - NUMBERS
10.1 - Shall either be the numbers provided with OBRA membership for the
current year or numbers provided by the race organizer. Numbers from other
races or OBRA numbers not from the current year may not be used. Penalty or
disqualification is at the discretion of the Race Official."
Admittedly enforcement of this rule is pretty lax however checking for
possession of a current year membership card or other evidence of current
membership is even more lax. There are many reasons why it is essential
that we have several methods to check for current membership.
