Event: Former US National Team & Saturn Coach Rene Wenzel along with

his wife, Kendra will be speaking about his current team the Subway

Express Pro Team. They will be sharing some winter training tips and

will be offering the opportunity for you to buy some new and used pro

frames and complete team bikes.



We will have some treats to share and look forward to having you visit

with Rene and Kendra.

sport of cycling, starting as a racer himself and then developing as a

coach and manager since 1989. He has worked as a US National Team Coach

where he coached riders to a total of seven World Championship medals,

and as a professional team director, where he coached and directed

athletes to numerous championships and international wins. Currently,

Ren? has begun the Subway - Express professional racing team and the

Express Racing Club, combining pro expertise with an enthusiasm to grow

grassroots cycling in North America. He and danAm Sports also directed

the Sea Otter Classic Elite Stage Race for 2004.

Ren? brings to his endeavors the experience of working with the

successful Saturn Cycling team as manager and sport director for more

than six years where he produced numerous National Champions, Olympians

and race series wins. In that time he worked with two different

management companies with varying styles.

He is familiar with budgeting and the management of both people and

money on the scale of a major US cycling team ? responsible for up to

22 athletes, six staff members and seven vehicles in the course of a

typical year. He is known as a master team director and manager and is

well respected by the professional athletes of US cycling. His name

brings instant professionalism to any competitive cycling event. ?

Kendra Wenzel has been coaching and managing with her husband Ren?

since 1994 when they began their coaching organization Wenzel Coaching.

Kendra was a professional cyclist for 11 years and was seven-year

member of the US National Team. She won a gold medal at the 1991 Pan

American Games in Cuba. She has directed Wenzel Coaching from 1995 to

2003 and is now expanding into other areas as Wenzel Coaching has taken

on its first CEO.

As director of the day-to-day operations of Wenzel Coaching she

maintained a yearly minimum growth rate of 15% since she retired from

active racing at the end of 1999. Kendra works as a full partner and

consultant in danAm Sports while continuing to assist in developing

Wenzel Coaching as recruiting coordinator, media liaison, spokesperson

and writer. Kendra and Rene are the authors of the book Bike Racing
