Several people asked me to post a message to let people know how my

quest for battery replacement worked out. In summary:



1. Many people told me off list that I should replace the battery

myself.

2. Several people said they had good experiences with sending the unit

back to Polar for repair. They were not charged extra, only for the

battery.

3. A couple of people said some jewelers would replace the battery, and

one recommended Maloys Jewelers on SW 10th in Portland near the library.

4. My wife reminded me that I am all thumbs.

5. I was in a hurry, and I didn't want to trust the US mail.

6. So I took it to Maloys and they replaced the battery for $17.

7. It works fine. End of story.
