The top placings for Master Men 40-44 as listed below are correct. We had a
"mud" rider (number not readable) who we originally read on the final lap as
the number of a rider who was down a lap. Troy's number was also unreadable,
but he was identifiable by the assistant judges and Splinter. After posting
results, there was a protest. The muddy rider ended up being Rich McClung,
#450, who was not down 1 lap. In addition, Troy Tucker, whose number was
unreadable from the first lap out, was in the same general finish area as
Rich, but we had placed him where Rich actually finished. Troy finished 2
muddy places ahead of Rich. End result: Both Troy's and Rich's numbers were
unreadable. Troy was the first muddy rider across the line (in 7th place)
and Rich was the 2nd muddy rider (in 9th place).
The rider in 10th place listed as ? never came up to give us his name. We
had him as rider #501, who came through on all of the laps (generally in
about 8 - 10th place each lap), but he is not listed on our registration. It
is a valid number for this category.
