Banana Belt 05 Updates

Race Direction - Race #2 will be reverse direction

(counter clockwise around the lake). The finish line

will likely change accordingly - perhaps to a

"hill-top" location.

Given that Paul Anderson nearly died last year at this

race due in part to the extraordinarily fast finish,

it should be a no brainer to change the finish to a

safer locale on the course.

I think there is an uphill stretch that's maybe 0.5

mile down the road that would be much safer.

BB 05 UPDATES:

Parking Fee - Good News: no passes required the first race. Bad News:

passes for races 2 and 3 will NOT be available at registration - YOU

MUST PURCHASE A PASS ($5) FROM THE GATE. Signs will be posted at the

entry to the park to remind you.

Volunteers - We are in very good shape but could still use a few

"back-ups" for both a.m. and p.m. races (corners and drivers). If you

are interested, notify registration staff when you sign in.

Series Pass - $50 for 3 races (saving $10) must be received by Feb.

23rd. This may be extended to the first race depending on

participation. We are expecting large field sizes this year... SO,

please register early to save time and money.

Race Direction - Race #2 will be reverse direction (counter clockwise

around the lake). The finish line will likely change accordingly -

perhaps to a "hill-top" location.

JR Race Distance - 13-15 yr olds will race 2 laps (22 miles) instead of 3 laps.

Women 4 Distance - Race distance will be 3 laps (33 miles) instead of 4 laps.

Masters (35+ and 45+) and Women (4 and 1/2/3) Fields - Please be

reminded that we must have more than 25 riders per field to have a

separate race. If the fields are combined, they will be scored

separately.
