Nick Glazener
I only race occasionally. Physically, the races are only training
exercises for me. My ?A? events are epic group rides exploring the back
country trails.
One of my primary reasons for registering for a race is to support the
promoters that I consider to be my friends. I appreciate their efforts
to put on these worthy events. I enjoy the opportunity to experience
the charged atmosphere of a race event. It gives me a chance to make
new friends that I wouldn?t otherwise get to know. The mtb race
environment is much better than the road races for my relaxed
preference.
I have no intention of ever being very competitive. I race in the ss
category because that is my only race worthy (barely) mtb. The distance
doesn?t really matter to me. I chose the Sport distance the last time
because I didn?t feel like suffering on that day. I have the endurance
to complete the Elite distance. That is most likely what I will choose
at the Mudslinger. I hope I make it back in time for the swag raffle.
Whatever format the concerned parties of interest choose to set up, I
will just show up and be happy to have a plethora of cycling
opportunities to choose from. Thanks to OBRA and all of the promoters.
