Hello Fellow OBRA Members,

Sorry to sound like a broken record but I want to make sure that no

one will be surprised when they can't find lodging for our event.

Here is the latest. As of the first part of last week Cooper Spur is

booked solid. There are no more rooms up there. Unfortunately I

even got caught sleeping and am having to find rooms elsewhere for

officials and staff. Our other host hotel, the wonderful and

tremendously supportive (three years running!) Best Western Hood

River Inn is already half filled and fast on its way to be booked

solid. That is even taking into consideration that doubled the

number of rooms reserved from last year! We have another lodging

sponsor this year which is the Oak Street Hotel but they only have 10

rooms available as they are a smaller outfit. Please book now if you

are wanting to come do the race. If you wait until May or even April

you will be sorely disappointed. For info on lodging log on to our

web site at http://www.mthoodcyclingclassic.com/lodging.htm

We are excited as registrations are way ahead of previous years and

we are getting a number of out of state riders signing up. It should

make for a great mix of talent and ability in each of the categories.

If you are in the men's pro 1-2, CAT 3 and even CAT 4 categories they

will fill up so do not wait until late May to get your registrations

in. I will also give a 80% mark warning when those categories reach

that point.

Snow pack so far is really weak so any teams wanting to preride the

courses this year should have ample opportunity. For the past two

years myself and others have been up shoveling snow off the roads

less than 10 days from the event! It will be nice to have a repreive

from shoveling and stress this year. I hope to see all of you in

June. Good luck this spring and remember to keep the rubber side

down!

Sincerely,

Chad Sperry
