Subject: OBRA Subscriptions to Oregon Cycling
OBRA has provided an annual subscritpion to Oregon Cycling News to it's
paying members in the past. I just received notice fron OCN that they are
increasing their prices, effectively now. While $1 increase is not a =
whole
lot, it is more then we have budgeted for - (we break even on memberships,
no profit added)
so the question is
1. Do we bite the bullet and pay the increase and still provide the =
service
2. Do we discontinue offering the subscription and let members pick up
their free copy of the paper when they frequent their local shops
3. Do we try and find another source that would provide a newsletter at a
cheaper price ( I have already put out feelers about this,have not had any
call returned yet)
4. Something else
Please let us all know if you find this paper invaluable and what your
choice of the above may be

IMHO, I believe we can accomplish the same via a web site verses a printed
newsletter such as OCN. In fact, we could get OBRA members to be =
contributing
writers, save the money going to OCN and pay for other programs such as an
online newsletter etc.
