Barnes/Burnside

It's my favorite downhill in town. After the 2nd time descending, you pretty

much know all of the potholes. I agree with my young team mate, it is a

great downhill, I get to 45+mph easy as long as there are no cars.

Going down Burnside is a crazy business! Try staying out of traffic and

avoiding the biggest potholes in town at 35-40 mph. No thanks, not

recommended.

I ride this route all of the time and for me its real

safe and i never have cars honk at me or get in my way

at all. Heading up barnes is pretty safe and going

down burnside is super fast...so you dont have to

worry about cars hitting you becuase you would probly

hit them befor they hit you.

You could also keep going up barnes and then go down

threw the zoo/park down into portand.

How is the person that got hit. Is he ok?

Good riding

Going down Burnside is a crazy business!

And that's an understatement. Yesterday, a cyclist gets whacked on Cornell and today we hear that Burnside is worry free. If there is any stretch of road in Portland to stay away from it's Burnside from Skyline to the city. Maybe on a Sunday morning at 6:00a. Other times, enjoy Washington Park.

If you are going 35-40mph, you ARE traffic.
