Harry and everyone,
I helped Scott and Cameron pick up signs after the race. I mentioned
the lines for the toilets. They informed me they had 362 riders...100
more than last year! They were adequately prepared for numbers like
they've seen in the past 8 years, but this year, the sport has
experienced a tremendous growth spurt.
They were caught about 2 units short with the extra racers.
Just thought you would like to know.
They will adjust accordingly in the future.
Promoters of future events, be aware the fields and participation are
larger than last year!

First, I'd like to thank Scott Goldstein and Cameron Bittle, all
of the officials, and all of the volunteer workers for another fine
edition of the Kings Valley Road Race. I would also, however, like to
offer a suggestion. In Scott's pre-race email one of his specific
requests was for riders to use the Porta-Johns provided at the start
area, and not to use "natural" bathroom areas. This request would carry
more weight and be more reasonable for riders to respect if there were
sufficient Porta-Johns for the crowd. I waited a bit over 15 minutes in
line to use a Porta-John starting at about 9:00 AM, and the line grew
significantly longer while I was waiting. There was no way I had time
for a second use prior to the race.
