Hi there,
This issue of preparation within Oregon for national/international
caliber events has come up a few times, so I thought I?d add a little if
it helps at all?
The difference between regional events (almost everywhere) and national
or international events is primarily a function of intensity. Absolute
intensity is first with intensity for duration close behind in terms of
what is required for an individual to be competitive in a particular
event. I think this is something worth keeping in mind regardless of
category if one is looking at races from the perspective of training
benefits.
Best of luck and have fun! Cheers, Kirk
