Subject: Will's crash

Candi, would you please distibute this to OBRA land for rme? Thanks,

Will

To Jet City Velo and OBRA people,

As many of you know, I recently crashed at the Hood River

Criterium. I would just like to thank you for all the great healing

vibes that were sent. Flowers, plants, emails, cards and phone calls all

really have been touching and special. Thanks you!!

To complete the story, I was in a crit. at Hood River, Or. about 10

days ago, racing the cat1-2 group. Dave Zimbelman and I had an early

break away that was bridged by 2 or 3 others so we had a group of 5 or

so. I don't have specific memory of this, but others have said I was

looking back simultaneous to somone in front of me standing and moving

laterally. All I remember is seeing my front wheel disappear before

talking to the really nice folks at Hood River Memorial Hospital. In

bike racing, as in marriage-it was probably all my fault as usual.

Special thanks to Dr. Mike (Murray) from OBRA and Shane from Discovery

bicycles in Hood River and others who I don't know about for hauling my

ass up to the hospital

Turns out I had half a dozen broken ribs, clavicle, and collapsed

and buised lung. I spent 3 day in ICU, 5 days total with the really

awsome folks at the hospital. A few more days in Hood River getting

psyched up for the drive home. I am back now and took 2, one hour walks

today,so things are really coming around quickly. As a Periodontist, I

expect to be back at work in about a month, probably about 3 weeks later

than my wife would like me out of the house. .....

Have been watching golf and ping pong on TV. They seem like nice

sports to me.

Thank you again, you are very special people. Ciao, Will
