I want to say thanks to everyone that has made this month a great

success. Most of all the volunteers that have shown up each week to help

with various tasks. Without you it would not be possible to provide

everyone with a great race each week.



Also thanks to all the racers that make putting on a weekly event so

much fun. I appreciate all your patience at registration, with the

un-known out on the courses, and the results. It takes a great deal of

effort to be available, line everything up each week and thanks to all

of you who make it out it makes it worth it.



Also thanks to our sponsors this year and years past. This year we have

a lot of support from our local shops Paul?s Bicycle Way of Life,

Hutch?s and Wheel Works. As well as Track Town Pizza for the $50 cash

prize for the fastest women, several pizzas and the space for the

awards. Syntace has also offered up a set of Aero TT bars to be raffled

off, and we have several other goodies on the way as well.



Clif Bar has been present at each event and will continue to be at the

Hill Climbs. They have been a great supporter of the Time Trials and

Hill Climbs donating energy to meet the demands of the rigors of pushing

yourself to the limit.



The Cat ? field has Billy Truelove of Hutch?s sitting 10 points of

teammate Dan Vrijmoet. Zach Winter of Team Guinness is only 2 points

behind Dan so expect a tight race for 2nd place this week. Paul Bourcier

and Nick Skenzick both of Hutch?s round out the top 5 with only 4 points

separately the two of them.

The Cat 3 field has once again proved that constancy pays off. Joel

Wilson of Paul?s Bicycle Way of Life Cycling Team holds a 6 point lead

over teammate Richard Sweet. Galen Mitternman of Team Hayden has 38

points just 2 points behind Richard. Next up is Brain Cadman with 32

points.

The Cat 4/5 field has by far been the largest field out there, with 24

riders last week alone. Wes Stephens of Paul?s Bicycle Way of Life

Cycling Team slipped last week with and came in 4th after everyone opted

to start gunning for him. He still holds a comfortable lead over Eric

Alhvin of EWEB Windpower Cycling Team. Eric however is only 2 points in

front of Doug Turnbull who is 2 points in front of Mike Cleary, who won

last week. Boyd Piebenga of Paul?s Bicycle Way of Life Cycling Team

rounds out the top 5 with 34 points. At all the fields this one is

probably the least settled for 2nd-5th place still and this week should

decide the final.

Paul Duncan and Paul Qualtere-Burcher both of EWEB Windpower are 1st and

2nd, but both have only done 2 races. If one shows up and the other

doesn?t they will win, but if they both show up, Paul Duncan needs to

make sure and finish less than 1 place behind or he will loose his lead.

The Men?s 50+ field, It has been Kent Peterson of EWEB Windpower, Eric

Selker of EWEB Windpower, Vic Stueber of Hutch?s and Mark Armstrong of

EWEB Windpower in that order since day one and that will be the way they

finish. The best chance anyone has now for personal glory is to topple

Kent from the #1 spot during the last week. Then at least you can say

you beat him, and he was the best of the 50 plus.

David Russell of Team Huntair lost last week to Roger Johnson of River

City Wheelman, proving Roger has found his form and is still shooting

for the overall spot in the men?s 60+ field. If Roger wins this week he

needs to beat David by 2 places, if David comes in second they will be

equal on points and he is 22 seconds to date over 3 races. Should be a

fun race for these guys this week.

The Women have made a strong showing this year at the Time Trials.

Though we have only had 1 cat ? & 1 cat 3 with Kori Kunz of EWEB

Windpower and Jaini Crawford of Paul?s Bicycle Way of Life we have had a

number of other women in the other fields. Jaini held the fastest

women?s title for two weeks, but then Kori beat it early on last Tuesday

only to be bested by Jude Russell of Sorella Forte/TVG with a blistering

time of 39:10, BTW Jude had the fastest time out of the Women 50+ field

as well. The weather conditions are favorable again this week for some

personal best, can Kori or Jaini come back, or will someone else

challenge Jude for the $50 cash prize for being the fastest women.



The Cat 4 women field seems to be in the bag for Candy Walker of Paul?s

Bicycle Way of Life with 56 points, the closest women is Kerri Ricketts

with 46 points. Kerri needs to watch her back though as Elizabeth

Vollmer-Buhl of Hutch?s is only 2 points adrift and has been improving

each week. It has been a fun race to date with numerous women doing one

race, doing well and not showing back up. Let?s see if we can get more

women out there this week and mix it up just a little bit more.

The juniors are still ruled by the EWEB Windpower team as every junior

to race so far has been from the team. Alex Reightley has a comfortable

lead of 56 points and should win as long he shows up this week. Ryan

Miller is 4 points up on teammate Kyle Thackary who is up 4 points on

the past two week?s winner Harry Hamlin. Harry could overtake Kyle if he

win?s and Kyle takes 4th, but that would mean Harry would have to really

bury himself to make sure and Kyle just soft peddle the entire race.

Either way it should be a great junior race once again.
