Hi OBRA Members:
As most of you know through my extensive emailing, I am raising money for
LAF via a bike raffle. I received the attached email today and found that
since I am not going to make my goal of $5K, I still have until the 23 of
March to get my donations in (see #3 below). I was contemplating extending
the draw date of the raffle to March 20th. This will give me time to get
more donations and help out LAF in the process. If I sell all 600 tix
before then, I will have someone do the drawing for me. If this sounds
unfair, email me, if not, I will go ahead and extend the draw date. Also,
the Columbian newspaper in Vancouver WA did an article on my efforts and Im
sending the link for that newspaper article.

Subject: RE: LAF Peloton Project - deadline reminders
Date: Thu, 22 Feb 2001 16:25:17 GMT
Dear Darren,
Dear 2001 Peloton Project Member,
All your hard work is definitely paying off. To date, 375 Peloton Project
members have raised over $450,000! And the checks keep coming! We can?t
thank you enough for all you are doing to raise funds and awareness for the
Lance Armstrong Foundation. Your support and dedication enables us to
further our mission of helping people manage and survive cancer. We look
forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the 2001 Ride for the Roses
Weekend in April.
As the deadlines are fast approaching, we wanted to send you the latest
update as well as a few reminders.
1. All Peloton Project members who raise $500 or more are automatically
entered into the Ride for the Roses. You do not need to register online or
otherwise. You simply need to pick up your rider packet at the APC Health &
Sports Expo on Friday or Saturday, April 6-7. Your incentive award will be
included in your rider packet. For those not planning on participating in
the Ride for the Roses, we will mail your award to you after the event.
2. To qualify for the Level I Award ($5000 or more), all donations must be
postmarked no later than February 26, 2001. This is to allow sufficient
time for travel and hotel arrangements to be made. By March 2nd, we will
know which members are within $500 of the $5000 mark. Those members will be
offered the opportunity to make an online contribution (with a credit card)
to qualify for the Level I Award.
3. To qualify for Levels II-IV Awards ($500-$4999), all donations must be
postmarked no later than March 23, 2001.
4. You will be notified when you qualify for the Level I Award, which
includes the Ride for the Roses Weekend Package. You will be instructed on
how to make travel arrangements (through our travel agency).
5. In order for us to efficiently credit your account, all your donations
must be accompanied by a sponsor ticket with the donor name, address and
phone number included. Also, all checks and money orders should include
your name in the memo section.
We will be sending more updates and additional details about the weekend in
the coming weeks.
Thanks again for all you?re doing in support of the LAF!
Sincerely,
Bianca E. Rodriguez
