Dear OBRA folks,

The Community Cycling Center is so excited to host Kids' Pedal this year.

We'll be bringing BIKES into the time-honored Grand Floral Parade. It's

going to be pretty spectacular to see hundreds of kids leading the parade.

We need to get the word out to let families know about this great

opportunity. Proceeds benefit the CCC. Any assistance you can offer is

much appreciated.

Can you pass this message along to coworkers, fellow club members, on e-mail

discussion lists etc? Bicycles and parades are essential parts of

childhood, both bike enthusiasts and non-bike enthusiasts know that. Let's

work together to make this event HUGE!

If you have any questions, please just let me know.

Thanks!

Ayleen

KIDS' PEDAL : A HEALTHY, FUN WAY TO JOIN IN ON THE GRAND FLORAL PARADE!

Kids on bikes will lead the time-honored Grand Floral Parade of the Rose

Festival on June 11th, 2005. Community Cycling Center is coordinating this

amazing effort.

It's time for the kids to be the superstars - leading a sea of floats along

the parade route from Memorial Coliseum to Downtown Portland. In the

spotlight, with thousands of people cheering them along while they ride

steadily in helmets, suddenly safety is pretty darn cool.

At the Community Cycling Center, it's all about safety. With over 10 years

of experience teaching bicycle safety to youth and adults, we're the experts

- and we're taking this opportunity to bring our bike safety instruction to

the children of Portland in a very grand way.

The memories will last a lifetime. During the winter holidays, 1,000

children from low-income families received bikes and helmets through our

annual Holiday Bike Drive. Sponsorship funding is getting these kids into

the parade for a thrilling ride on their new bikes. What an amazing way to

kick off summer, and what a great way to make these kids feel special.
