Good Morning Everyone,

Here are a few updates

Registered Rider Info

Registration is now closed for the 2005 Mt. Hood Cycling Classic. We are still tallying all the riders up at this point but we are looking at a record number of competitors this year coming in to race. The community of Hood River is very excited and ready to roll out the red carpet to competitors from across the U.S. and Canada. If you are signed up to race please continue to check the web site at www.mthoodcyclingclassic.com for new updates. We will post a rider's list tomorrow and prologue start times on Tuesday. If you see any inaccuracies in your information please email us the corrections at mh-@gorge.net For those riders who did not get in because the fields were full we give you our sincerest apologies. For directions to packet pick up read below. Category 4 men and category 3-4 women ONLY you may also pick up your packets on Friday June 3rd from 8-9 a.m. at Cooper Spur Mountain Resort. All other categories your packet pick up starts at 2:00 p.m. and ends one hour prior to the first rider departing the prologue in your category. The packet pick up will close for good by 6:00 regardless.

Come Watch the Race!

Racing or not make sure you are in downtown Hood River Saturday night June 4th for the stage 4 Cramer's Mortgage Criterium. We have some of the nations best riders lining up to compete on one of the wickedest crit courses around. Food, event expo, music and prize drawings for the spectators will assure that everyone is having a great time. Plus nearly $2000 in cash primes for the Pro/Elite men's and women's divisions will keep the race moving at a fast and frantic pace.

Kid's Race To!

If you have kid's between age's 5-10 years old bring them on out for the Kiddies race sponsored by Sprint. Registration opens at 3:00 with racing starting at 4:00. There will be a free T-shirt to each competitor along with water bottle, participation ribbons, and prizes for those that place. One of America's premier women's pro teams Ford-Basis will be on hand to meet with the kids and help them along. So bring the kid's for some racing and to watch the big boys compete. There is a field limit of 50 kids so to make sure you get in email Julie Wilson at Discover Bicycles and preregister.

How to Get There

Both riders packet pick up and the downtown criterium will be located at the Full Sail Brewing Company in Hood River. To get there take I-84 to Hood River. Take the city center exit #63. Turn right at the top of the off ramp on 2nd street. Heading south take the first right on Cascade proceed two blocks west then a right on 5th street and a left on Columbia. That will put you right in front of the Brew Pub were packet pick is starting at 2:00 June 2nd and were the finish line will be located for the criterium June 4th from 5-9:00 p.m. Travel time from Troutdale is 45 minutes and from Portland International Airport 1 hour.

We have a great event planned and racing or not I hope all of you can join us!

Sincerely,

Chad Sperry
