Apparently you didn't get the sarcasim in my email. The discussion was started to find out what people want out of promoters for prizes. Re-read the email and that's what it was about.

G Willikers <mr.g.w.i-@gmail.com> wrote:Don, that's easy for you to say, you have a complete bike shop at your

personal disposal.

I will certainly not speak for Matt, but my interpretation of what he

said is that generally speaking, people like the concept of a raffle.

Whether or not it's worth standing around at the end of a bike race for

one is a different story. Hence, leave if you want to.

One thing I think Don will agree with though, is a poorly run bike race

sucks, which is what started this topic in the first place.

You asked what people expect from race organizers? For people to get

their money's worth... Not to pay $55 for a weekend of race fees only to

have a botched tt & xc race because of fundamental race promotion

problems... Not marking turns...

BTW 66% is an D where I come from! Passing grade, maybe. Trip to Chuck E

Cheese, Heck NO!

and the drawn out raffle at the end of year party. I like to race win or

lose cheer on my friends and teammates and go home. If I am at a state,

national or world championhsip I would like an oportunity at a medal,

but no raffles please.

I am full of it too...

love for racing bikes...

maybe raffles should be at the beginning of the race and you have to carry your prize thru the race if you really want it.
