Hey Everyone,
In the midst of all the banter over whether or not to give out prizes at races I thought this would be a great segway into letting everyone know that we will be giving out prizes to spectators at the stage 4 downtown criterium this Saturday June 4th. An hours drive from Portland I encourage all of you who would love to see some of the hot riders on the NRC circuit (Scott Moniger, Eric Wohlberg, Justin England) take on our local studs like Barry Wicks, and Ryan Trebon on one of the gnarliest crit courses anywhere. Located in downtown Hood River (one hour's drive from downtown Portland) it is going to be a great race. The criterium will start with a stellar masters field at 5:00 3's at 5:45, women Pro 1-2 at 6:30 and the big boys at 7:15. We will have an expo music and yes I am sorry to say prize drawings and giveaways to the crowds. I assure you that no rider's pocket books were hurt in any way shape or form from this gesture. All items were given to us by our wonderful and generous sponsors who love this event.
We will have a kiddies race for those younger competitors ages 5-10 that is no charge. Registration for that starts at 3:00 with racing begining at 4:00 p.m. The Team Ford-Basis Women's Pro Team will be helping out so this would be a great chance for your child to race and hob knob with the pros.
And for those of you who hate prizes, don't have kids, and don't care to see a gnarly crit can follow the race by watching the evening news on their local Porltand TV stations or by checking nightly on our web site. I hope to see you this week!
