Well,
The course is marked and the race is looking great.
Looks like I overestimated the elevation gain and the official distance
is 51 miles and 7800 ft. So those few that are doing the test and the
cream puff will suffer a little bit less.
Speaking of the Cream Puff, I have decided between the race and all of
my effort to put on this event that it would be a good idea for me not
to race the cream puff this year and raffle my entry off to any person
that finishes the Test Of Endurance in under 5 hrs. All who do this and
want to enter the Cream Puff the following weekend will be given a
chance for my spot in the race. You can give the spot away as well but
I must have a name before you leave. I am not sure how many people will
finish in under 5hrs but it is a great time to go for. I rode the
course today and it took me 3 hrs for the first lap all the way back to
the school, 27 miles.
News:
Thule has generously donated 2 full rack systems with two mounts or 2
hitch systems, your choice. We have great burritos after the race(5.00,
Blodgett cafe will be serving) and plenty of Vitamin water, clif bars,
coffee cake, bananas and to refuel your system. Average times should be
around 6 hrs and i look forward to seeing you this saturday or Friday
night at the pre-registration at Cyclotopia in Corvallis. I posted on
mudslingerevents.com the starting list of entrants. Any 20-24 year olds
out there, its wide open.
Thanks,
Mike
