I think before some of you jump on the band wagon and start whining about

this and that from the first race of the year, Step up and promote this

perfect race and show use how it done in your perfect little world.

Breifly, racers(non bike race organizers/promoters) all need to realize

is adding categories adds to the cost of the event in general. Lets

look at facts here when adding more categories at your average road

race. Please read below!

Facts:

-need more registration volunteers to handle more racers(categories)

-adding an another category adds one more offical(usually) costing

approx. $45.00-50.00per day. Along with gas/mileage comp for them to get

to the event and drive and follow race around.

-for a multiple day race, that would include more than 2-3hrs driving to

get to race that would mean officials coming to race area night before

race, and night before second day. So say you have 5-6 officials, seeing

that they dont share a room, at an average hotel thats $50.00 per night

per room.

-Food for lunches for officials(5-6) per day approx. $3-4

-if your county or state permit requires certified flaggers on the race

course at traffic control devices, thats approx. $25-45 hr for them. Not

just one but 2-3 per corner. How do certified flaggers relate to

categories? Well say you have 3 races in the morning, starting at

10am-10:30am, then second group of 3 races at 1pm, that means from

10am-approx 3-4pm you are paying the flaggers. You add it up!

More races, equals more money spent....end of story....

YA want more examples, JUST ASK....I'll tell you all about race

organization and promotions till your sick!!!!!!
